Evanescence perd deux membres

Le guitariste et le batteur d’Evanescence, John LeCompt et Rocky Gray, ne font plus partie du groupe pour des raisons qui n’ont pas été précisées. Dans sa page MySpace, LeCompt affirme qu’il a été congédié pendant une conversation téléphonique avec la chanteuse, Amy Lee, alors que Gray refuse de commenter à la suite des recommandations de la direction du groupe. Amy Lee, quant à elle, assure que tout va bien et qu’elle reprendra bientôt la route avec de nouveaux musiciens.

« John et Rocky ont fait partie d’Evanescence pendant quatre ans et nous avons vécu de beaux moments, mais ils étaient prêts à passer à autre chose et nous nous sommes préparés. Evanescence est quelque chose que j’aime et dorlote depuis que j’ai 14 ans et je vais poursuivre ce projet et le défendre comme je l’ai toujours fait », a affirmé Lee dans un communiqué.

Le son de cloche est toutefois différent dans le blogue de LeCompt. « J’ai été congédié sans raisons valables sans même avoir été prévenu ou que l’on ait discuté de mon avenir. Nous n’avons pas toujours été d’accord, mais qui l’est? Nous avions un objectif commun qui était de faire en sorte qu’Evanescence soit le meilleur groupe possible. J’ai sué sang et eau pour y arriver, mais on dirait que ce n’était pas assez. Je fais maintenant partie de la liste des gens qui ont été frappés par les portes tournantes de sa vie », écrit-il.

Il fait bien sûr référence au départ acrimonieux du guitariste Ben Moody, en 2003, et à celui du bassiste Will Boyd qui a quant à lui quitté en 2006.

STATEMENT FROM AMY LEE
Evanescence is alive and well. John and Rocky were in Evanescence for four years and we shared some great times together playing live, but they were ready to move on and so we have parted ways. Evanescence is something I have loved and nurtured since I was fourteen, and I will continue to protect and fight for it as I always have. Terry, Tim and I are very excited to play live with some amazing new musicians and we will rock harder than ever. Stay tuned for more news on that front. And don't worry about the tour, guys. Nothing will be cancelled and we will see you soon!

Il y a des groupes tellement plus intéressant qu'Evanescence. Le premier album est okay mais aprés quoi sa manque cruellement de personnalité et c'est beaucoup trop ciblé..

Même lacuna Coil s'en sort pas trop mal avec a dernière sortie..

EVANESCENCE OPENS A NEW DOOR WITH TWO NEW BANDMATES
Continuing the multi-platinum success of their sophomore album, The Open Door, Evanescence (Wind-up Records) welcomes drummer Will Hunt and guitarist Troy McLawhorn - both from Dark New Day (Warner Bros. Records) - to the band this week. "I am a big fan of Dark New Day and can't wait for the fans to see what the guys bring to our live show," says front woman Amy Lee.

Evanescence will debut their new formation on Saturday, May 19th at Columbus' sold out Rock On the Range Festival, along with ZZ Top, Hinder, Velvet Revolver and Buckcherry. Following this performance, Evanescence will perform at WMMR BQ FESTIVAL (Philadelphia) on Sunday, May 20th at Camden's Tweeter Center, along with Velvet Revolver, Buckcherry and Chevelle. The group will then embark on a one-month European tour making stops in Belgium, France and Russia at select festivals and headline dates. Beginning July 20th in St. Louis, Missouri, Evanescence will co-headline the U.S. leg of The Family Values Tour with Korn.

Mon groupe préféré à vie! Bon... en ce moment je suis plus Nightwish, MCR, mais Eva ça reste le groupe qui m'a ouvert sur le monde du rock et qui m'a donné le goût de faire de la musique... Je préfère The Open Door, mais ma chanson favorite est Imaginary Smile
